Iraq, Terrorism and Torture

I have very little new to say on this subject, and less that isn't already being said elsewhere. I'm glad that the country is finally exercised about this, though it is cold comfort to our victims after four years.

  • As always, Obsidian Wings has indispensable coverage.
  • Laura Rozen points out some of the origins and international repercussions of our torture policies.
  • Matthew Yglesias explains the second actual reason for using torture (the first being personal satisfaction at hurting a difficult or elusive "enemy").
  • Kevin Drum highlights why Sen. Graham's proposed amendment was despicable.
  • Seriously, read the Obsidian Wings stuff, but steel yourself before plunging in to the medical tortures.

Impeach the President. Frog-march his operatives out of this government. Try them all for war crimes.

Save us from ourselves.
