Boycott Target
I'm late to this game, blogwise, though this burned me up when I first heard about it. Thanks to Atrios and AmericaBlog for reminding me:
As you may recall, Target is letting its pharmacists refuse to fill your order for emergency contracptive pills (Plan B, as it's called) simply because they find your prescription immoral. Target is now saying that they'll fill your prescription in a "timely manner" at another pharmacy, or at their pharmacy at a later time (presumably when their holier-than-thou employee is on break).
I have loved Target, they've had a good reputation for corporate-citizenship, but I don't know what the hell they're thinking here. A pharmacist has no business judging what prescriptions to fill, full stop. That decision was made in a doctor's office, thank you.
The sheer gall. Boycott Target, and tell them why.

If I boycott all the stores that have such a policy, I won't be able to shop in Omaha. What if I need some dishes, socks, hair dye, candy, and small electronics? What THEN Ben?
You can boycott Target all you want, in fact- I double dog dare you to keep it up- but I'm a real American and that means a CONSUMER through and through.
Women's lib Shwoman's lib... I'll just have the baby, and then I'll take my shoes off and have another one! And THEN I'll have TWINS!
