In the Land of U.Z.

I only link to a few conservative blogs because I consider the blogroll on the left to be an endorsement, and there aren't that many right-wing blogs I think it's worth your time to read. Instapundit is only on there from sheer popularity, and it's worth knowing what the other side is carrying on about.

This is why the Blog of the Year isn't on there. They're just generally uninteresting, in the Information Theory sense. If I want to know what Powerline is saying about some issue, I just imagine the most reactionary party-loyal Republican response I can think of and sure enough that's the line they've taken.

But apparently I'm missing out on some hilarious shenanigans over there. Fortunately, I have the Poor Man to skim the cream off the top for me.

But my real purpose in posting this little mental meander was to link to this, (via Crooked Timber) which just absolutely made my day:

There once was a man in the land of America, whose name was Hinderaker; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared Bush, and eschewed evil and Democratic Satan. And with him, there blogged two others. And Hinderaker had an exceedingly great blog. It was so great that it was called the greatest blog of them all. And each day Hinderaker rose up early in the morning and offered burnt offerings to the unerring White House.

Read the whole thing. It's worth it.
